Accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
Step 1: Acknowledge Your Need for a Savior
Recognize that everyone has sinned and needs forgiveness. The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 (NLT), “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”
Reflection: Understand that no matter who you are or what you have done, you are not beyond God’s grace. Jesus came to offer forgiveness and a new beginning.
Step 2: Believe in Jesus Christ
Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for your sins and rose again. Romans 10:9 (NLT) states, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Reflection: Trust in Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection as the foundation of your salvation and the assurance of eternal life.
Step 3: Confess Your Faith
Pray a prayer of commitment, confessing your faith in Jesus Christ and inviting Him into your life. Here is a “Salvation Prayer” you can use:
Salvation Prayer:
“Dear Lord Jesus,
I come to You today acknowledging that I am a sinner and in need of Your forgiveness. I believe that You are the Son of God, that You died for my sins, and that You rose again from the dead.
I ask You to come into my heart, to be my Lord and Savior. I want to follow You and live according to Your will. Thank You for Your grace and for giving me a new beginning.
In Your precious name, I pray, Amen.”
